  we couldn't have been happier with casa juanita 3, or the staff at the abbey. pilar in the front office was incredibly helpful, and never made us feel rushed with our inquiries no matter how busy she may have been. the grounds are kept up immaculately, and when we had a minor snafu pop up with the water system, a maintenance person was on the job to repair it immediately. if you're looking for a quiet location about a 15 minute walk north of town and one block away from the nirvana of unico's beach bar, it would be hard to beat the abbey.

  Excellent apartment, walking distance to everything - the beach, the many good restaurants, dive shops etc. Puerto Morelos is probably the best small town in the Yucatan Peninsula...

  We were immediately pleased and impressed with how clean and nicely decorated the unit was. We also loved the lay-out,plenty of space for living in comfort. Beds were comfy. Each bedroom had windows that allowed air across the beds. LOVED the shady porch with ocean breezes - heavenly! We'll definitely be back!!

  My husband & I plus 3 teenagers stayed at Juanita #3 for 10 days. The appartment was perfect with lots of place for everyone. Beautifully decorated and equipped with all the cooking utensils you would ever need. A great plus was the use of the bikes on site. Puerto Morales is a perfect place for a laid back holiday and has many excellent restaurants to choose from. Also within 30 miutes there are a number of amazing cenotes to explore ...our favorite was Verde Lucerno - an open-air cenote with a zip-line.

  We spent eight wonderful days in Juanita #3. The short walk to the beach along with the accomadations made for a great vacation.
  Special thanks to Tiff for a guided tour of the Mayan ruins and a shopping excursion all rolled into one!

  We had a very enjoyable stay in Casa Juanita #3 of Abbey del Sol, Jan 7-14 2012. So much so that we made a reservation to do it all again next year. CJ-3 is an upstairs 2-bedroom apartment with a comfortable living room, 2 comfortable queen beds, beautiful (fully furnished) kitchen, dining room for 6, computer desk, side room with futon, and nice patio. The three baths (2 with showers) were more than we needed, but they could be a blessing for a large group. We enjoyed the creative, tastefully appointed surroundings. Personal touches were everywhere.
  
  Casa Juanita is about a 20-minute walk from town center...or 20 pesos by taxi. If you walk and carry some bread or tortillas, you can feed the tejones on the way (tejones is the local term for coati mundis). This was our first visit to Puerto Morelos, and we found the town pleasant and to provide excellent value for the money.
  
  The beach is quite nice and easily accessible from Abbey del Sol. It gets a bit busy on Sundays, but otherwise you will have more room than you know what to do with. There are lifeguards on duty at the stations a bit closer to town center. There is even some snorkeling from the beach, once you find the right spots. Floating alongside a four-and-a-half foot barracuda (as I did) might be a bit unsettling to some, though. There are comfortable, portable beach chairs available from Abbey del Sol if you prefer to supervise from shore.
  
  Casa Juanita #3 is almost as nice as its on-line photos picture it. We were quite comfortable there, though one of our 3 air conditioners did not seem to be operating at full capacity. WiFi service was reasonably good (we sat right next to the router), with download speeds better than 3 MB/sec...good enough for telephone conversations over MagicJack. We could not do that from Playa del Carmen last November or from Cancun last January.
  
  My wife & I did think that bathrobes would be a nice addition.

  Everything about our stay at Casa Juanita of Abby del Sol was just wonderful! Before we ever made reservations, the owners personally called us after we emailed a question. They were friendly and helpful. Like we were working with family, rather than a hard-nosed businessman. The location was an easy walk to the beach, longer walk to the main square for groceries, but the free bikes with baskets for groceries, to hop on made that a fun trip. We did walk it many times and felt like it was a relaxing good stroll! We loved the tranquility of Puerto Morelos yet it had the right touristy flavor of cafes, street restaurants and shops all without people badgering you to buy. We always felt safe enough. It was am easy 30 minute bus trip to Cancun and or Playa del Carmen to take in the sights and sounds there for diversion. Lots of things to see and do close around the area. Casa Juanita was perfect for our needs! Well maintained and spotless. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking. Jin, the manager was very friendly with a smile all the time, and spoke good English. When we asked for an iron and he wasn't sure there was one to borrow, (who on vacation could possibly need an iron) though we agreed he would bring it tomorrow morning if he could find one, I thought to myself, that will never happen. But sure enough he was at our door the next morning with iron and board in hand. And so it was with everything; they aimed to please. Our initial reservation was extended from 3 days to 8. We loved it, so choose to stay put rather than move on! I have already recommended it to others! If we ever get to go back I'll rent from Abby del Sol!
